I have a great deal of customers looking for the health insurance in Spain suitable for the visa or residency or they are students coming to Spain that only need insurance for just the time of studies, at the moment we have plans from three months period onwards.
Now on the requirements and questions I usually get just to clarify.
Are the plans we offer over the limits required by the residency office - usually all plans are 100% cover, in network, so there is no cap on this, therefore exceeds the visa requirements. Unlimited,
Most plans required are to cover what the social security in Spain covers? well, they do and exceeds the social covers, also gives immediate access to the specialist care, meaning that you do not need to get through a GP to access this.
Insurance contracts in Spain have waiting / cooling periods, the answer is YES they all do, for elective surgeries, usuallyeight to ten months, there is no health cover company in Spain that doesn't. apart for the Students plans for under 35 years of age that have no waiting times, the rest all do.
yes, you can go to the emergency and if there is a life threatening you get access straight away and the cooling periods don't apply,
As to cover for the repatriation: this is also a requirement: our plans either have it included already, such as the students, all the rest can add this as a supplement at this moment its 3€ per month more per person,
payment for the policy: most customers of course do not have a bank account in Spain, we can do these policies with annual payment by card/ transfer.
Very important: all contracts in Spain (apart for the students) renew 12 monthly automatically, so if you wish to cancel you have to give notice one month prior to the renewal, this is an obligation by law, for the protection of the insured,
